Instructions

Prepare Oven and Pan

Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper .

Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl , beat 1.50 cups unsalted butter (softened) and 2.50 cups granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes .

Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 4 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the 1 tsp vanilla extract .

Prepare Dry Ingredients

In a separate mixing bowl , whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour , 2 tsp baking powder , and 0.50 tsp salt .

Combine Wet and Dry

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 cup milk , beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Create Marble Effect

Divide the batter equally into two separate mixing bowl . Leave one bowl as is for the vanilla batter. In the second bowl, mix in 0.50 cup unsweetened cocoa powder until fully incorporated for the chocolate batter.

Layer and Swirl

Spoon alternating tablespoons of vanilla and chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan, creating a marble pattern. Use a knife to gently swirl the batters together.

Bake

Bake for 60-70 minutes , or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional Topping
