- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1.50 tsp salt
- 3.50 cups bread flour
- 2.50 tsp instant yeast
- 0.50 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pepperoni
Equipment
- stand
- baking
- oven
Instructions
Dough
Place 1.25 cups milk , 3 tbsp olive oil , 1.50 tsp salt , 3.50 cups bread flour , and 2.50 tsp instant yeast into a bowl. Mix and knead by hand, using a stand mixer, or in a bread machine to make a smooth, soft dough.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise until doubled, 60-90 minutes .
Assembly
Gently deflate the dough and transfer to a lightly greased work surface. Roll the dough into a 12 " x 18 " rectangle.
Spread evenly with 0.50 cup pizza sauce , 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese , and 1 cup pepperoni chopped.
Starting with a long end, roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 to 18 pieces depending on how large you want the buns.
Space the rounds on two baking sheets lined with parchment or lightly greased. If you've cut 12 rounds, flatten them gently to about 1 " tall.
Cover the pans and allow the buns to rise 60-90 minutes until nicely puffed. Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 350°F.
Bake
Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes until light golden brown.
Remove from the oven and serve warm with additional pizza sauce on the side if desired.
