Bae Italian Sandwich
A mouthwatering Italian ciabatta sandwich packed with savory cold cuts, creamy mozzarella, tangy vinaigrette, and crunchy vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.50 tsp dried basil
- 0.25 cup extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 6 ciabatta roll
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella
- 4 oz prosciutto
- 4 oz salami
- 4 oz capicola
- 0.50 cup Kalamata olives
- 0.50 cup banana peppers
- 1 medium tomato
- 1 small red onion
- to taste fresh basil leaves

Instructions
Vinaigrette
In a small bowl, whisk together the 2 tbsp red wine vinegar , 1 tsp Dijon mustard , 1 clove garlic (minced), 1 tsp dried oregano , and 0.50 tsp dried basil .
Slowly drizzle in the 0.25 cup extra virgin olive oil while continuously whisking to emulsify the dressing.
Season with to taste salt and freshly ground to taste black pepper . Set aside.
Prepare the Ciabatta Rolls
Preheat a skillet or panini press over medium heat.
Lightly butter or brush 1 tbsp olive oil on the cut sides of each 2 ciabatta roll .
Toast the rolls in the skillet or panini press until golden and crispy. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Sandwich
Drizzle a generous amount of the prepared vinaigrette over the bottom half of each 2 ciabatta roll .
Layer the 8 oz fresh mozzarella slices evenly over the vinaigrette.
Arrange the 4 oz prosciutto , 4 oz salami , and 4 oz capicola slices over the mozzarella, ensuring an even distribution of flavors.
Sprinkle the sliced 0.50 cup Kalamata olives and 0.50 cup banana peppers over the cold cuts.
Add the 1 medium tomato slices and 1 small red onion slices for extra freshness and crunch.
Optionally, add to taste fresh basil leaves for an aromatic touch.
Drizzle a little more vinaigrette on the top half of the 2 ciabatta roll before placing it on top of the assembled ingredients.
Press and Serve
Press the sandwich firmly to help meld the flavors. If using a panini press , grill for an additional 2-3 minutes to warm the ingredients together.
Slice the sandwich into halves or quarters for easy serving.
