  • salt and black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1-2 tablespoons neutral oil
  • 2 tablespoons Korean red chili paste
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 7 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1-2 stalks chopped green onions

Instructions

Season & Coat

Pat 4 boneless chicken thighs dry. Season evenly with salt and black pepper to taste.

Coat each piece lightly with 4 tablespoons cornstarch , shaking off any excess.

Pan-Fry

Heat 1-2 tablespoons neutral oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chicken skin side down and pan-fry for 6 minutes per side until the skin is crispy and the chicken is cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Make the Sauce

In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons Korean red chili paste , 3 tablespoons soy sauce , 7 cloves minced garlic , 3 tablespoons honey , 2 tablespoons sesame seeds , and 3 tablespoons water . Stir and let simmer for 30 seconds .

Glaze

Return the chicken to the pan. Coat well in the sauce and cook for 1 minute on each side until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Serve

Garnish with 1-2 stalks chopped green onions and extra sesame seeds. Serve hot with steamed rice.
