About

Fluffy dinner rolls stuffed with melty cheese and brushed with garlic butter. The dough is inspired by a cinnamon roll base, giving these an incredibly soft texture. Perfect for wiping up sauces and gravies. You can rest the shaped rolls overnight in the fridge for easy next-day baking.

Instructions

Make the Dough

1

In a stand mixer bowl fitted with a dough hook , combine 3 cups all-purpose flour , 1.50 teaspoons dry yeast , 2 eggs , 1 teaspoon salt , and 0.25 cup unsalted butter . Mix on low speed until a smooth dough forms, about 5 minutes .

2

Remove the dough and form into a ball. Place back in the bowl, cover, and let rest until doubled in size, about 1 hour .

Shape and Stuff

3

After the dough has doubled, transfer to a lightly floured surface and cut into 12 even pieces.

4

Take one piece and gently flatten with your fingers. Fold the edges in to form a ball, then flatten again. Place 0.50 oz cheese in the center.

5

Gather the edges toward the middle and pinch tightly to seal. Flip seam side down and place in a greased baking dish about 1/2 inch apart from the next roll. Repeat with remaining pieces.

6

Cover and let rest until puffy and nearly doubled, about 1 hour .

Bake

7

Preheat oven to 350 °F (175°C).

8

Brush the rolls with egg . Bake for 20 minutes until golden on top.

Garlic Butter

9

While the rolls bake, combine 0.50 cup unsalted butter , 2 tablespoons garlic , 1 teaspoon salt , and 0.25 cup fresh parsley in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted and combined.

10

Brush the baked rolls generously with garlic butter immediately after removing from the oven. Serve warm.
